Professional and Cost-Saving Solutions

Enzyme Activity Measurement of Glucose 1-Dehydrogenase (PQQ, quinone)

Creative Enzymes using specialized techniques and professional assay equipment to provide high quality service for enzymatic activity. We have already tested numerous enzymes and have the capability to offer rapid and accurate testing method for oxidoreductase, including glucose 1-dehydrogenase.

Glucose 1-dehydrogenase (PQQ, quinone) catalyzes a direct oxidation of the pyranose form of D-glucose to the lactone and thence to D-gluconate in the periplasm. Oxidizes other monosaccharides including the pyranose forms of pentoses. It is a classical quinoprotein which requires the cofactor pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) which occurs in a wide range of bacteria. It is also named as:

The quinoprotein glucose dehydrogenase (Gdh) has two different forms: a membrane-bound enzyme (m-GDH) in gram-negative bacterial or a soluble enzyme (s-GDH), which has been observed exclusively in the periplasmic space of the bacterium Acinetbacter calcoaceticus.  Glucose 1-dehydrogenase (PQQ, quinone) is a membrane-bound enzyme containing PQQ as prosthetic group. It also contains bound ubiquinone and Mg2+ or Ca2+. Electron acceptor is membrane ubiquinone but usually assayed with phenazine methosulfate. Like in all other quinoprotein alcohol dehydrogenases, the catalytic domain has an 8-bladed propeller structure. Methylhydrazine is one of its competitive inhibitor. This enzyme participates in lots of metabolism pathway, including glucose and glucose-1-phosphate degradation, glucose degradation (oxidative), glycogen metabolism, L-ascorbate biosynthesis VI, and pentose phosphate pathway. Since the irreplaceable role it plays in cell growth and metabolism, more and more studies of its functions and characteristics have been developed. Creative Enzymes can support your research through providing most reliable activity assay service for glucose 1-dehydrogenase (PQQ, quinone).

Creative Enzymes have extensive experience in enzyme activity assay. We can offer suitable methods for not only purified enzymes but also any other forms of enzyme extractions. Our high-quality services and precise testing have been approved by all of our customers. In the future, we will continue support your research and guarantee the best services exceed the average quality of industry.
