Enzyme Activity Measurement of L-Lactate Dehydrogenase Using Spectrophotometric Assays

Creative Enzymes has already faciliated many professionals to achieve enzyme activity measurement with our efficient and accurate services. We are well known for professional techniques and extensive experiences. Our advanced equipment and superb teams will assist in conducting the measurement of L-lactate dehydrogenase activity.

D-lactate dehydrogenases and L-lactate dehydrogenases (D-LDH and L-LDH) reduce pyruvate to D- and L-lactate, respectively. L-lactate dehydrogenase (LDH or LD) is one of the dehydrogenases that found in nearly all living cells, including animals, plants, and prokaryotes. L-lactate dehydrogenase is also known as:

  • lactic acid dehydrogenase
  • L (+)-nLDH
  • L- (+)-lactate dehydrogenase
  • L-lactic dehydrogenase
  • L-lactic acid dehydrogenase
  • lactate dehydrogenase
  • lactate dehydrogenase NAD+-dependent
  • lactic dehydrogenase
  • NAD+-lactate dehydrogenase

L-lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate with concomitant interconversion of NADH and NAD+. It converts pyruvate, the final product of glycolysis, to lactate when oxygen is absent or in short supply, and it performs the reverse reaction during the Cori cycle in the liver. At high concentrations of lactate, the enzyme exhibits feedback inhibition, and the rate of conversion of pyruvate to lactate is decreased. It also catalyzes the dehydrogenation of 2-hydroxybutyrate, but it is a much poorer substrate than lactate. In the human body, LDH is expressed extensively in body tissues, such as blood cells and heart muscle. It is a marker of common injuries and disease, such as heart failure, because it is released during tissue damage. Because of its significant in health care, the activity measurement of lactate dehydrogenase has become an increasing need for researchers. Creative enzymes offers accurate quantification method to monitor the lactate dehydrogenase activity by spectrophotometer.

Creatives Enzymes is particular specialized in customized enzyme activity measurement. Even the situation of your research topic is extremely complicated, we can help to rapidly and accurately determine the enzymatic activity of lactate dehydrogenase. With our extensive experiences, Creative Enzymes will be your reliable partner in scientific research and product development.
