Enzyme Activity Measurement of Propanediol-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Using Spectrophotometric Assays

Creative Enzymes is the professional in enzyme activity measurement, especially measurement for oxidoreductases. EC 1.1.1.7 is one of the oxidoreductases, named propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase. Hardly has this enzyme activity been analyzed, however, Creative Enzymes can provide the best and outstanding assay service of measuring propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase.

EC 1.1.1.7 was first isolated from muscle of Oryctolagus cuniculus (Rabbit), and the enzyme class was created in 1961. Propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.7) is also known as:

This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases and is involved in metabolism of acetol phosphate. Propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase catalyzes the chemical reaction of propane-1,2-diol 1-phosphate to form hydroxyacetone phosphate. Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are propane-1,2-diol 1-phosphate and NAD+, whereas its three products are hydroxyacetone phosphate, NADH, and H+. Specifically, this enzyme is one of those oxidoreductases acting on the CH-OH group of substrates with NAD+ or NADP+ as acceptor.

Spectrophotometric measurement is the main way to quantify oxidoreductase activities. The enzyme activity is preferably assayed by adding reduced co-enzyme to the reaction mixture and measuring the generated nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) in a spectrophotometer at 340 nm. However, many common electrolytes in the solution may interfere with the assay as they could show inhibitory activities of the enzyme. These inhibitors include bromides, formates, inorganic phosphates, sulfites, and sulfates. As a result, measuring the enzymatic activity requires cautiously prepared reaction media. Creative Enzymes has extensive experiences to conduct propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase activity measurement. Our professional techniques in spectrophotometric measurement guarantee precise results.

Creative Enzymes is one of the few companies that can carry out the activity assay service for propanediol-phosphate dehydrogenase. Our accurate and rapid assay service has been approved by many customers. With the excellent service attitude and high-quality service in enzyme activity, more and more customers and researchers choose us to be their top partner.
