Detection of Bacteria with Nanozymes

Disease caused by bacterial infections is one of the world's major health problems. Developing rapid, accurate and cost-effective methods for detecting bacteria is essential. In recent years, much progress has been made in the study of nanozymes. Compared with natural enzymes, nanozymes are more stable and less expensive. Currently, a number of enzymes, including manganese dioxide, gold / platinum, cerium dioxide, iron oxide, and cobalt oxide nanozymes, have been used in the development of high-sensitivity bacterial detection. In addition, the properties of nanozymes can be designed according to different requirements.

Creative Enzymes provides bacterial detection with nanozymes, helping our clients worldwide in the field of nanozymes. Our platform is equipped with cutting-edge facilities and professional experts to support research. Here, we provide various services according to the requirements of our customers.

Detection Subjects Nanozymes Detection Method Characteristics
Escherichia coli Au / Pt Colorimetric method Visual observation
Pd / Pt Immunochromatography assay High sensitivity
Au / Pt / SiO2 Gas-generate assay Quantitative analysis
Listeria monocytogenes Au Immuno-colorimetric assay Visual observation
Salmonella ZnFe2O4 / rGO Colorimetric method Economical and convenience
CuO Colorimetric method Simple and time-saving

Detection of Escherichia Coli with Nanozymes

  • Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a common pathogen that contaminates food and drinking water, causing food poisoning and bloody diarrhea in patients. In severe cases, this results in renal failure.
  • Creative Enzymes constructs gold / platinum nanozymes to bind to surface of E. coli. This gold / platinum nanozymes with POD activity can replace natural enzymes and rapidly catalyze the oxidation of the organic substrate TMB in the presence of H2O2. The color and absorbance variations of the TMB can be judged by the naked eye, and then, we realize the rapid detection of E. coli.

  • We propose an immunochromatography method based on palladium / platinum nanozymes. The Pd / Pt nominal of the secondary antibody can bind to E. coli and catalyze TMB oxidation, after which, we can observe the color change. Even at low concentrations of pathogens, visible bands can be generated with comparable or greater linear extent and sensitivity.

Detection of Listeria Monocytogenes with Nanozymes

  • Listeria monocytogenes is a zoonotic pathogen, which can still grow and reproduce in an environment of 4°C. It is one of the major pathogens that threaten human health from refrigerated foods.

  • We propose a gold nanozymes-based immune colorimetric assay for rapid and reliable detection of Listeria monocytogenes.

Detection of Salmonella with Nanozymes

  • Salmonella bacteria is one of the foodborne pathogens that cause intestinal infections. It can be transmitted to humans through poultry, vegetables and eggs. Infected patients can develop fever and diarrhea and in severe cases die within 12 to 72 hours.
  • Creative Enzymes coats copper oxide nanozymes with specific antigen for detection of Salmonella, which can be specifically bound to in the serum of infected patients. The color change of substrate (TMB) can be observed by naked eye under the catalysis of CuO nanozymes. Thus, the patient was diagnosed with Salmonella infection.
