(S)-3-Boc-2,2-dimethyloxazolidine-4-carboxylic acid is a serine-derived, Garner-type oxazolidine building block in which the amino and hydroxyl functions of serine are masked within a 2,2-dimethyloxazolidine ring bearing a Boc group on the ring nitrogen and a free carboxyl group at the 4-position.
