Treatment of Bacterial Infectious Diseases with Nanozymes

The development of multidrug resistance (MDR) to antibiotics has led to and emerging healthcare crises through the evolution of "superbugs". The world health organization (WHO) has clearly stated that a variety of bacteria have become resistant to standard treatment strategies. In this situation, nanozymes are particularly promising for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases, characterized by sustained therapeutic efficacy, low immunogenicity, stability, and manageable toxicity.

With the rapidly approaching post-antibiotic era, new and effective combinations of antibiotics are imperative to combat multi-drug resistance. Creative Enzymes provides various types of enzymes for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases, including wound disinfection, bacterial keratitis, oral ulcers, enteritis, pulmonary infections and more.

Types of Diseases Nanozymes Types of Eliminated Bacterial Characteristics
Disinfection of Wound Pt Staphylococcus aureus
  • Killing bacteria at the wound site.
  • Promoting tissue repair.
Graphene Quantum Dots Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus
Cu Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus
Bacterial Keratitis Au / BiOI Staphylococcus aureus Good biosafety
Oral Ulcer Fe3O4 - Multiple enzyme activities
Enteritis Cu / C - Multiple enzyme activities
Myositis Pd / Pt Staphylococcus aureus Excellent biocompatibility
Pulmonary Infection Au - High efficiency

Disinfecting the wound with Nanozymes

  • The in vivo application of nanozymes is widely focused on wound disinfection and promoting wound healing. The repair and regeneration of damaged tissue involves cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and tissue remodeling. Bacterial infections not only delay this process, but can even cause life-threatening complications.
  • In view of its good enzyme-like activity, the nanozyme can catalyze H2O2 to produce more toxic hydroxyl radicals (·OH), and has a good inhibitory effect on common wound infection pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, etc.

  • Creative Enzymes develops platinum nanozymes that show extremely high peroxidase activity. The nanozyme is capable of killing most Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, resulting in efficient wound site bacterial elimination.
  • We fabricate an antibacterial bandage using graphene quantum dots (GQD). GQD has a good peroxidase activity and catalyzes the efficient production of ·OH from low concentration of H2O2, which can kill most of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
  • We also construct a Cu2+ nanozyme hydrogel with POD activity, which can effectively kill resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli under low-level H2O2 conditions. The enzyme is capable of killing most Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, resulting in efficient wound site bacterial elimination.

Treatment of Bacterial Keratitis with Nanozymes

  • Bacterial keratitis is an ocular disease caused by infection after trauma or removal of corneal foreign bodies.
  • Creative Enzymes establishes Au / BiOI nanozymes, which can effectively kill Staphylococcus aureus and relieve bacterial keratitis without causing tissue inflammation.

Treatment of Oral Ulcer with Nanozymes

  • Oral ulcer is a small wound formed in the inner lining of oral tissue, which is often accompanied by inflammation. Inflammation is associated with high levels of reactive oxygen species and bacterial infection can slow the healing of ulcers.
  • We develop Fe3O4 nanozymes, which not only exhibits enhanced POD and CAT activities, but also has SOD enzyme activity, so they can remove ROS to protect normal cells from oxidative stress. In addition, the enzyme reduces the local release of inflammatory factors and effectively promotes the healing of oral ulcers.

Creative Enzymes offers all the services involved in vaccine preparation based on nanozymes for your research convenience. Our goal is to help our clients achieve meaningful results through powerful and consistent approaches.
