1-(4,4-Dimethyl-2,6-dioxocyclohex-1-ylidene)-3-methylbutan-1-ol (ivDde-OH) is the hydroxy precursor of the ivDde protecting group, an isovaleryl-modified dimedone derivative used for the protection of primary amines in peptide chemistry.

Applications

Used as a reagent for the preparation of ivDde-protected amino acid building blocks and other orthogonally protected amines for peptide synthesis.

ivDde is a hydrazine-labile, orthogonal amine protecting group widely used for the selective protection of lysine side chains in solid-phase peptide synthesis. It is more resistant to premature cleavage during repeated piperidine treatments than the parent Dde group.
