Description

A combined chromium-aluminum tanning powder based on basic chromium sulfate and aluminum sulfate for leather tanning and retanning.

Applications

Suitable for initial tanning and retanning of various leather types and is used particularly for split suede leather.

Product Overview

The chromium component contributes softness, fullness, higher shrinkage temperature, and water-wash resistance, while the aluminum component supports fine, tight grain and lighter, softer coloration. The combination promotes good chromium uptake and can reduce chromium remaining in spent liquor by about 30-40% compared with pure chrome tanning.

Usage

Main chrome tanning: typically 6-8% based on pelt weight. Retanning: typically 3-5% based on shaved wet-blue weight.
