Description

Chymotrypsin is a serine protease that preferentially hydrolyzes peptide bonds involving the carboxyl groups of L-form tyrosine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan. This high-purity preparation is isolated from porcine pancreas and further purified by affinity chromatography to remove contamination by other proteases such as trypsin. The enzyme shows optimal activity around pH 8.0, and its activity is inhibited to varying degrees by heavy metals and natural trypsin inhibitors.
