Description

1. Human skin tissue was homogenized in 0.1 M acetic acid and pH adjusted to 2.5 with hydrochloric acid.
2. Pepsin was added and digested at 4°C for 3 days.
3. The extract was neutralized by the addition of NaOH to inactivate pepsin activity.
4. Collagen is precipitated by the addition of 20% solid sodium chloride.

Salt-free, lyophilized;
Soluble in 0.01 M HAc and acidic buffer;
Maximum concentration is 5 mg/ml;
Purity is approximately 90% on 5% SDS-PAGE.
