Enzymes for Research, Diagnostic and Industrial Use

D-2-Bromophenylalanine

Cat No.
CEGZ-50020
Description
D-2-Bromophenylalanine is a halogenated, non-natural aromatic amino acid in which the phenyl ring of D-phenylalanine carries a bromine substituent at the ortho position. The free amino and carboxyl groups allow direct use in peptide synthesis.
Applications
Used as a building block in peptide synthesis and medicinal chemistry for the preparation of halogenated peptide analogues and aryl-functionalized compounds.
Product Overview
Halogenated phenylalanine residues are incorporated into peptides to modulate hydrophobicity, halogen bonding, and metabolic stability, and the bromine substituent also serves as a handle for metal-catalyzed cross-coupling chemistry. D-Configuration additionally confers proteolytic stability.
