D-Glutamic Acid α-tert-Butyl Ester

Cat No.
CEGZ-6922
Description
D-Glutamic acid α-tert-butyl ester is the α-carboxyl protected form of the non-natural D-enantiomer of glutamic acid, with free α-amino and γ-carboxyl groups. The tert-butyl ester is stable to bases and nucleophiles and is cleaved under acidic conditions.
Applications
Used as a chiral building block in peptide synthesis and as a pharmaceutical intermediate for the preparation of D-glutamic acid derivatives and peptide analogues.
Product Overview
This chiral building block is used where selective reaction at the amino or γ-carboxyl group of D-glutamic acid is required while the α-carboxyl group remains protected, for example in the synthesis of D-glutamate-containing peptides and pharmaceutical intermediates.
