Description
In commercial pet feeds, plant-based feed ingredients such as cornmeal, wheat flour, and soybeans are used and have a high proportion in the formulation process to provide energy and various nutrients to animals. However, because there is also a certain amount of non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) in the plant cell wall, it will prevent digestive enzymes from entering the cell for digestion, thus reducing the digestibility of the feed. The protein sources in pet diets are mainly a mixture of plant and animal proteins, which affects the efficiency of protein utilization by pets.
