Description

Granzyme B inhibitors are designed to target and modulate the activity of a serine protease known as granzyme B. Granzymes are a group of enzymes found primarily in cytotoxic immune cells. Granzyme B plays a key role in the immune system’s defense against infections or cancerous cells. When these immune cells recognize target cells, they release granzyme B into the target cells, thereby triggering apoptosis (programmed cell death). This product functions as a mild inhibitor of both human and murine granzyme B. Additionally, it suppresses apoptosis-associated DNA fragmentation in lymphocytes induced by fragmentin 2, a rat lymphocyte granule protease homologous to granzyme B, with an ID50 value of 300 nM.
