Description

Lespedeza bicolor Extract is naturally sourced from the dried stems and leaves of Lespedeza bicolor Turcz., a plant of Fabaceae family. It is extracted by water/ethanol solvent and standardized to 4%–10% total flavonoids (tested by UV). Marker bioactive compounds include quercetin, luteolin, genistein, rutin, catechin and other flavonoids and polyphenols. Functions: Exhibits potent antioxidant activity to scavenge free radicals. In vitro and animal studies demonstrate anti-inflammatory effects, regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism, relief of oxidative stress, renal and hepatic protective effects, as well as inhibition of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) formation. Traditionally it is applied for clearing heat, detoxification, promoting diuresis and relieving cough. Typical applications: Raw material for dietary supplements and botanical functional products; antioxidant additive for animal feed; antioxidant ingredient for cosmetics; widely used in cell/animal model and fermentation research.
