Description

Macleaya cordata Extract is naturally sourced from the dried whole herb of Macleaya cordata (Willd.) R. Br., belonging to Papaveraceae family. Extracted by water or ethanol, standardized to 0.15% sanguinarine (determined by HPLC). Its characteristic bioactive ingredients are isoquinoline alkaloids including sanguinarine and chelerythrine. Functions: It provides broad-spectrum antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and inhibits the propagation of harmful microorganisms. It modulates animal gut microbiota, maintains intestinal mucosal integrity and improves gut health, and relieves oxidative stress. In vitro studies also show anti-parasitic and anthelmintic activities. Typical applications: Natural antibacterial and growth-promoting additive for animal feed (popular as antibiotic alternative); botanical bacteriostatic preparations; widely applied in cell/animal model and fermentation research.
