Nα-Boc-D-aspartic Acid β-Benzyl Ester

Cat No.
CEGZ-50002
Description
Nα-Boc-D-aspartic acid β-benzyl ester is a protected derivative of the non-natural D-enantiomer of aspartic acid, in which the α-amino group carries a Boc group and the side-chain β-carboxyl group is masked as a benzyl ester, leaving the α-carboxyl group free for coupling.
Applications
Used as a building block in peptide synthesis for the preparation of D-aspartic acid-containing peptide analogues in pharmaceutical research.
Product Overview
The benzyl ester is stable to acids and bases and is removed by hydrogenolysis, providing an orthogonal protection strategy to Boc chemistry. D-Aspartic acid incorporation into peptides confers resistance to proteolytic degradation.
