Nα-Fmoc-D-glutamic Acid γ-tert-Butyl Ester

Cat No.
CEGZ-6888
Description
Nα-Fmoc-D-glutamic acid γ-tert-butyl ester is a side-chain protected D-glutamic acid derivative used as a building block in Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis. The Fmoc group protects the α-amino function and is removed under mild basic conditions, while the tert-butyl ester masks the γ-carboxyl group and is cleaved during final acidolytic deprotection.
Applications
Used as a building block in solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis, particularly for the preparation of protease-resistant peptides containing D-glutamic acid residues, and in medicinal chemistry research.
Product Overview
This compound is a protected form of the non-natural D-enantiomer of glutamic acid. Incorporation of D-amino acids into peptide sequences is a widely used strategy to improve proteolytic stability, modulate conformation, and enhance the biological half-life of peptide-based molecules.
