Nα-Fmoc-Nω-Pbf-L-homoarginine

Cat No.
CEGZ-6960
Description
Nα-Fmoc-Nω-Pbf-L-homoarginine is a protected derivative of the non-proteinogenic amino acid L-homoarginine, a higher homologue of arginine with an additional methylene group in the side chain. The guanidino group is masked by the acid-labile Pbf group and the α-amino group carries the Fmoc group.
Applications
Used in solid-phase peptide synthesis for the preparation of homoarginine-containing peptides and peptide analogues for biochemical and pharmaceutical research.
Product Overview
Homoarginine is a naturally occurring metabolite of lysine and an endogenous substrate in arginine metabolism. Its incorporation into peptides is used to study arginine-related biological processes and to modulate the properties of cationic peptides.
