Description

Nα-Fmoc-S-acetamidomethyl-D-cysteine is a D-cysteine building block whose thiol group is protected with the acid-stable acetamidomethyl (Acm) group. The Acm protection is compatible with both Boc and Fmoc strategies and is removed by treatment with iodine or mercury or silver reagents after chain assembly.

Applications

Used in solid-phase peptide synthesis for the construction of multi-disulfide peptides and cysteine-containing D-amino acid peptide analogues requiring orthogonal thiol protection.

Product Overview

Because the Acm group survives standard trifluoroacetic acid cleavage, this derivative is particularly useful for regioselective disulfide bond formation in peptides containing multiple cysteine residues.
