N-Benzyl-L-isoleucine

Cat No.
CEGZ-6995
Description
N-Benzyl-L-isoleucine is an N-alkylated derivative of the proteinogenic amino acid L-isoleucine in which the α-amino group bears a benzyl substituent. The carboxyl group remains free, and the benzyl group can be removed by hydrogenolysis.
Applications
Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and peptide chemistry for the preparation of hydrazinopeptides and N-substituted amino acid derivatives.
Product Overview
N-Benzyl amino acids are useful intermediates in peptide and heterocycle chemistry, serving as precursors for the synthesis of hydrazinopeptides, N-substituted amino acid derivatives, and other modified building blocks.
