Description

O-Pbf-D-arginine is a side-chain protected derivative of the non-natural D-enantiomer of arginine, in which the guanidino group is masked by the 2,2,4,6,7-pentamethyldihydrobenzofuran-5-sulfonyl (Pbf) group and the α-amino and carboxyl groups are free.

Applications

Used as a building block and intermediate in peptide synthesis for the preparation of D-arginine-containing peptide analogues in pharmaceutical research.

Product Overview

The Pbf group is the standard acid-labile protection for the arginine side chain and is removed during final trifluoroacetic acid cleavage. This derivative is used where a D-arginine residue with a protected side chain is required in peptide assembly or as an intermediate for further Nα-derivatization.
