succinate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase (acylating)

Cat No.
EXWM-1178
Description
Catalyses the NADPH-dependent reduction of succinyl-CoA to succinate semialdehyde. The enzyme has been described in Clostridium kluyveri, where it participates in succinate fermentation, and in Metallosphaera sedula, where it participates in the 3-hydroxypropanonate/4-hydroxybutanoate cycle, an autotrophic CO2 fixation pathway found in some thermoacidophilic archaea.
Form
Liquid or lyophilized powder
Enzyme Commission Number
Storage
Store it at +4 ºC for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ºC~-80 ºC.
Synonyms
succinyl-coA reductase; coenzyme-A-dependent succinate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase
Reaction
succinate semialdehyde + CoA + NADP+ = succinyl-CoA + NADPH + H+
