Description

Each liter of TPY Broth contains 10.0 g casein hydrolysate, 5.0 g plant peptone, 2.0 g yeast extract, 5.0 g glucose, 2.0 g dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K₂HPO₄·7H₂O), 0.5 g magnesium chloride (MgCl₂·6H₂O), 0.25 g zinc sulfate (ZnSO₄·7H₂O), 0.15 g calcium chloride (CaCl₂), 0.0001 g ferric chloride (FeCl₃), 0.5 g L-cysteine hydrochloride, and 1 mL Tween-80; the final pH is adjusted to 6.5 ± 0.2.

Cultivation of Bifidobacterium for Fructose-6-Phosphate Phosphoketolase (F6PPK) Assay
Directions:
Weigh 26.4 g of this powder, add 1 L of distilled or deionized water, stir and heat to boiling until completely dissolved. Dispense into Erlenmeyer flasks, autoclave at 121 °C for 15 min, and store for later use.
