Description
Eicosatrienoic Acid (5Z,8Z,14Z) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is a substrate for 5-LO (5-lipoxygenase). 5-LO from RBL-1 cells converts this fatty acid to 5-hydroxy-6,8,14-eicosatrienoic acid and 5-hydroperoxy-6,8,14-eicosatrienoic acid. Since a double bond at C-11 is lacking, this particular fatty acid cannot be used in leukotriene A formation.
