Description
Melittin is one of the most potent anti-inflammatory substances known to mankind, with anti-inflammatory activity 100 times greater than that of hydrocortisone. Melittin reduces the phosphorylation of proteins by inhibiting the activity of protein kinase, and reduces the effects of inflammation in tissues of the skin, blood vessels, joints, liver, and neurons, and it has a hormone-like effect, but has no hormone-like adverse effects.
Melittin also effectively inhibits bacterial growth and reduces skin damage caused by surface bacteria.
Melittin can act on the nervous system, has selective blocking effect on N-acetylcholine receptors, affects the release of neurotransmitters, hinders muscle contraction, and prevents the formation of wrinkles and fine lines.
